Hi, I'm Jakob
I’m a teenager who has found my passion in design, a journey that started with a fascination for visuals and grew into a deep dive into graphic and web design. Adobe Illustrator has become my go-to tool for creating meaningful, memorable logos, while WordPress allows me to manage multiple websites, ensuring they are functional, user-friendly, and visually engaging. As I continue to learn and grow, I’m committed to taking on new projects, improving my craft, and making every design unique and impactful.
History of J Visual Design
First Design Opportunities
Back in 6th grade, we were assigned multiple projects that included slideshows. I found myself putting a lot of effort into making everything look good (sometimes going overboard). With minimal "software" (a.k.a. Google Slides), I was limited in my creative freedom.
First "Real Software"
During lockdown, I found an online application known as Canva. It's a creative's dream: the sky's the limit in terms of executing your ideas. After being gifted the Premium subscription for Christmas, I started creating more and more with my new tools.
From Fun to Business
Canva was great. I made fun projects and occasionally made things for others (sometimes getting paid).
Then it hit me: why not make this a serious thing?
The Origin: Spark Studios
This business idea quickly morphed into what would be called Spark Studios. A place for everyday people to get quick graphic design work done. Threw together a quick website (it was BAD 😂) to showcase what I could do and just launched it.
J Visual Design is Born
Spark Studios was a great idea, but executed poorly. I had no brand, a poorly designed website (on a free domain), not many people needing designs.
It was time for a complete rebrand.
That's when J Visual Design was born. I spent weeks building a brand, a website, and did some simple marketing. I purchased jvisualdesign.com and printed business cards.
Genuine Software Acquired
Applications as simple as Canva can only do so much. I needed more to continue to grow.
That's when I invested in the Adobe suite, which unlocked a whole new world of creative possibilities.
Website Foundation
I established a WordPress hosting foundation, which cuts through any design limits and enables me to craft beautiful, highly functional websites.
Here We Are Today
My constant learning taught me many things I didn't know when originally designing the J Visual Design brand. After getting a much-needed update, I am completely ready to unleash my creativity to the world.
